Fashola, Ruben Abati others storms Unilag

"I am not a youth... And if you see individuals of about 50 something years posing as youth leaders, it is because you left a vacuum that has to be filled." Was one remark Raji Fashola, the former Lagos State governor made which will remain evergreen in the memory of youths.

He made the above remark at this year's Rise Networks sponsored Nigerian Commemoration of the United Nations International Youth Day held in the University of Lagos. This year's event was themed: Youth Civic Engagement: The Significant Role of Youth in Politics and Public Life.

Fashola charged Nigerian youths to jettison political apathy and start engaging themselves more in politics. This he said will not only keep them abreast of what is going on in government, but will also compel transparency and accountability from elected public officials.

Notable political sages that graced the occasion included Chief Dele Momodu, C.E.O Ovation Magazine, Dr. Ruben Abati, Special Adviser on Media & Publicity to former President, and popular musician Timi Dakolo amongst others.
